Anyone else at the port waiting on a ship? One comes wednesday

noone? Also, any idea if BMW completely covers their cars in protective wrap? When you look at pictures on the shipping companies site some cars are completely covered while others have just a piece on the hood.

I tried getting more details from my CA, but from what he said It's hard to tell how many cars are ahead of yours at the dock. The good news is, a ship is sailing to the east coast every 5 days or so.

Ya, thats the last estimate I got. Once it actually gets on a ship I expect an updated ETA. The shipping companies website says the ship leaves tomorrow and it takes 12 days to arrive in baltimore. Then from what I've read on this thread, the car will be in baltimore 7-10 days at the prep center before being delivered to the dealership. So IF my car gets on the ship tomorrow, it looks like it should be about 3-4 weeks.

Fingers crossed. I just called the number and it says I'm still at the port. If I didn't make this ship, looks like were waiting until the 30th.

Same here, good news is we should be on the next one. Its the 'Courage' and it just left Belgium on its way to Bremerhaven. Gets there early tomorrow AM and leaves for Baltimore on monday.

try that out. go to 'customer centre' and then track & trace. it doesnt seem to work for me though.

I just checked the Bremerhaven webcam and referenced the ship on marinetraffic.com. It just pulled into the port and is anchored but now it's not leaving until tuesday. I requested that they do not drill any holes in my bumper for the front tag at the prep center with my CA. This wait is terrible!

My CA was able to give it to me. If your car is out of production, your CA should definitely be able to access it at this point. You'll also need the VIN for your insurance policy.

So I just got an e-mail stating that my car will be ready for me to pick up on the 24th. I'm not sure whether or not I want to take off work to get the car on this date. Does anyone know where the car is usually stored while its at the dealer? Outside in the lot with the rest of the cars? In the showroom? Hopefully certainly not used for test drives....

Could be any of those....hopefully not used for test drive though.
I once had a car on order and the dealer got it in and had it in his showroom for a week before calling me and letting me know the car was even in.

That's exactly what he did. It was when the Honda S2000 came out...it was the first one at the dealership. Still didn't make it right to put it in the showroom and not even tell me it was in while everyone tries it out but me. I almost didn't buy it for that reason.

I usually leave cars in the back with all the other stuff, but put a sign saying it's sold and I keep the keys in my desk. If its a premium car or the customer is one of those people who needs to feel special, I'll have it cleaned and put in the showroom with a sold sign and keep it locked up.
