Service Milage Timer

Wonder if anyone can shed some light on this for me.. Took my car in for scheduled service about a month ago. They reset the service timer to 10,000 miles. I have done over 800 miles since i got it back and still every time i start car the timer still says 10,000 miles.. Is this normal?

I think it only changes in 1000 mile increments

It's 1000 miles increments until you get under 5k remaining then it is 100 miles increments.

Last fall I was at the track..... Started the weekend with the maintenance clock showing 5000 miles till service. By the end of the weekend it was showing 3300 miles.

Over the course of the next several months the clock went UP!!!! I'm now at 3600 miles. I'm guessing the aggressiveness of the driving must have something to do with it eh?
