Got my paper 1///M brochure yesterday

More like a pamphlet actually, as it is an 8-page foldup.

Pics are ones we have seen (although not in a single one do you see the rear or even side view of the car)!

As per technical specs, weight savings over 135i are a mere...11lbs! Not sure where the 70lb figure came from BMW quoted at launch. Unladen weight was quoted at 3362lbs, vs 3373lbs in the 2008 brochure for a manual 135i.

Otherwise nothing new or striking, noticed peak power of 335 (must be SAE and not the 340hp on the NAIAS) is reached at 5900RPM (not 5800 as in the 135i). Compression ratio is unaltered (10.2), and peak tq varies slightly from the N54 (1500-4500).

What did change (vs 135i) was interior space, which is weird. Shoulder width front rear is at 54/53.4 respectively, while the 135i brochure lists 56/55 respectively.

Dealer just got the brochure same day, so if you stop by your local one chances are they will have one for you.

I should also add that the weight distribution was marginally improved:

51.7%/48.3% for the 1 ///M
52.3%/47.7% for the 135i (manual)

Largely due to LSD and exhaust most likely as that is where the bulk of the weight gain comes from (add bigger rear wheels/tires/brakes although some of that can be said about the front too)

And it def is a 2011 model

There's one photo in which a portion of the right front wheel is shown where the glare makes the car look as if it was in an accident!!! It actually looks smashed!

Not a good piece BMW.
