Mounting 17" 8J Wheels

Hi,
I have come across a sweet deal on 17" wheels (star spoke 290, originally on 09 Z4) for my winter tires. the only concern I have is the 8J width on my 135I (M Package). I read in other threads that some have mounted 18" 8J with no problem and just wanted to confirm with the experts that they wont be causing problems (rubbing, etc) for the front wheels.

thanks
Pasha

The offset would be needed. It can't be judged on the width alone.

Not sure What is the offset on those.
The tires will be 225/45/17 on these 17" 8"J wheels

Thanks

I believe the offset on those is +47 but this could be confirmed using www.realoem.com if you know the year and model of the original z4. Sounds like they will be a bit further out on the front with a 225 tire.

225 / 45 / 17 x 8.5 ET40 is what I had for my snowshoe, no rubbing and they are really flush from the front, and OE looking at the rear.

The offset can be checked on the back of the hub or spokes of the wheels. For an accurate answer, we'll need to know that.

So would 17x8 ET 47, with 225/45/17s fit in the front? Stock suspension, with no issues??

I know they fit in the rear...

Yes, that setup will work just fine.

Thanks, you were right! They fit without any rubbing or any issues at all.

Clearance with the struts up front is close, but has no problems with rubbing. I've hit some hard bumps and taken turns at speed with ZERO issues.
