im certain my radio is louder/more powerful after software update

I recently had my car reprogrammed after the whole fuel pump injector crap. after receiving my car back i realized that my radio is noticeably louder then before. Has anyone else experienced this?

i am certain of this because before i sent my car in, i use to always keep the AUX volume on max or 1 notch below it. Now it sounds just as loud on the first or second level while making the sound totally distorted on 5-6. i have the $875 sound system upgrade on my car by the way.
