Are there any places in USA that rebuild , upgrade manual transmission cars or do most people swap to something else?

I've read some speculation that exchanging your core for a rebuilt unit from BMW comes with upgraded internals, p/n has certainly been superseded, so possible. I don't think there are any major rebuilders in the USA, but could easily be wrong.

If you want to "swap" it is possible to get a DCT or 8HP in there, but I'd be interested to swap an F8x manual with twin-disc clutch and see if I can get rev-matching to work.
