MY2011 cars started production in March. I know because I got one of the last MY2010 cars, a February 2010 build (D'oh! No Value Package! Crappy base stereo!).
I would expect MY2012 cars to begin production this March or April based on this press release. On another note, what does everyone think of this new color (Vermillion Red)? I know it's been available on other models before, but it's new for the 1er. I think it's nice and elegant, but definitely not a replacement for the much sportier (IMO) Crimson Red. I wonder if BMW is offering both colors at once, or if they are deleting any previous colors? I can't help but notice a similarity between some of the offerings in the 2002's color palette - Vermillion Red reminds me a lot of the old Malaga Red while I think Crimson is more reminiscent of Verona Red. Anyone else see this? Or even care for that matter? Last edited by Bimmer-Bob; 12-16-2010 at 02:14 AM.. |

MY= Model year. The model year is usually started the year prior to the actual calender year. For instance, right now you can purchase a 2011 Mustang even though it's still 2010. If companies waited to produce vehicles in the same year they are designated, they would actually fall behind with their inventory. It's just so they have some lead time. Nobody would like to have a new 2011 car delivered in 2012 lol.

They're yellow alright, but they tend to "look" blue-white when the xenons light up during dark situations.

I like it. Not a HUGEEE change from the M Coupe...which is a good thing because I'd be so bummed if the update for the 1 series looks dramatically better than the M coupe.
I also like those cloth seats.

Really dislike the new headlights (although I prefer the whiter halos, the eyebrows are lame), and the new M sport wheels are REALLY ugly. I think I love my 2010 even more now!

I think the M-sport wheels are less then desirable just to get you to buy the upgrade to the 5-spoke lol... hell you just bought the expensive bumper fascia upgrade, what the hell lol ~Frost

Not digging the taking of the halo/angel eyes away. Those are kinda a staple of BMW aesthetic appearance. That sets them apart from other manufacturers. Trying to be LIKE Audi is ghey. Trying to be better than Audi is what I have come to expect and appreciate.

The 5 spoke is the standard 135 wheel, not an upgrade.
