thanks, i've been looking for these pics too! people argue about it a lot but never post pics. now that i see, i'll definitely turn mine off. it kind of looks like the car was cross-eyed.

Don't know about your insurer, but mine gives me an additional 5% or so for having DRLs.

I wouldnt mind if they werent so tan/bronze in hue. A white would have been better, maybe you can fit in an LED bulb in that socket...

I don't love the DRL's either...

I actually don't love DRL's on any car...but that's my oppionion

If I was in LAW - DRL's would be angel eyes + fogs (but that can get you a ticket here)

poldim, when you turn on your parking lights, do only the angel eyes come on, or both the angel eyes and the DRL?

I have iDrive so I keep the DRL disactivated. I think they make the car look weak, where as the parking lights make her look very aggressive.

But to answer your question, I think that if you enable DRL, they turn on when the engine is on, reguardless of light switch position.

Maybe if you turn on your lights, then maybe they turn off? I dont know...

They automatically turn on when the car is on but you can switch them off if you turn on the fog lights..This is how it works on my X5 (currently driving it and without my 330i for few weeks

)

Can't turn off DRL's with fog light switch.
