puddle of oil next to injectors n54
I just bought an 08 n54 135i as a project car to turn into a track car.
When looking at it noticed a puddle of oil in the injector area filling all the freeze plugs. He said he spilled filling it up. Got it home. Cleaned it up. And noticed some sweet sweet black bubbling oil filling the freeze plug on cyclinder 1. After cleaning it out again I noticed more oil starting to appear again. Didn’t even start the engine. Does anybody know what’s up? Is this a crack? Thanks in advance for any help. |

Valve cover gasket maybe? Did you check for codes?

I lost my obd2 scanner. I just bought the car and my buddy hooked up his laptop to it before I bought it. And while I showed a huge list of codes. Nothing engine related.
Things like tpms and airbag and seatbelt codes etc (salvaged title) Past owner said he spilled oil filling it up with no funnel. I cleaned it and drove it a couple more times and now there’s no more puddle. Maybe he wasn’t yanking my chain. He must’ve filled it with old used oil. Because this stuff was BLACK. It has alot of mods and is pulling hard. If I had a crack wouldn’t one of the cylinders be low on comp? Either way that is hopefully a moot point. I’m going to change the oil tomorrow with some uv reactive stuff and use my black light to see if any new oil is leaking. |
