Gintani DCT Enhanced Oil Pan Group Buy
Want to get everyones general interest in doing a group buy for the Gintani DCT Enhanced Oil Pans. They retail for $850.00 which is quiet steep. I contacted Gintani to see if they would be interested in allowing us set up a group buy. They came back with interest.
They said if we can get a minimum of 10 for the group they would drop the price to $750 with Free Shipping. Im sure if we get more than the minimum of 10 the price will continue to drop. Some info on the Gintani DCT Enhanced Oil Pan:

Interested.
Quick thought/Question: Isn't the under tray useful for keeping the air flowing underneath the car going in a laminar manner? Wouldn't the removal of the under tray cause more drag? Not that we're talking super car aerodynamics here but still. Thoughts? |

Im sure it does help keep air flowing underneath the car a little better. Also functions as a splash guard. If this sale thread goes through and I end up with one I will probably modify my under tray to allow the Gintani pan to poke through while still being functional for air flow and splash.

Count me in the group buy x2. Looking the pan in the pictures I would say that a less deeper pan and a higher fin height could do more in terms of better cooling but I am happy either way. Thanks for the post and please let me know when this is ready to proceed.

Total dct capacity is about 9.5 liters I think so this will add about 15% additional capacity plus some cooling. Since I haven't had an issue with my DCT at the track it's difficult for me to justify the cost. Thanks for coordinating this gb though. It looks like a good deal if you were already looking to buy this.

As you increase engine power and more heat needs to be dissipated trough the water radiator eventually one wants to take the transmission-oil-to-cooling-water heat exchanger out of the equation and take the transmission heat out of the water cooler. I did so and I found myself in dire need of an improved way to exhaust transmission heat trough any means other than the air entering the BMW nostrils. This is exactly where this aluminium pan can help!
