Hey, this is a decent diy on a e92 n54. I'm sure the install is quite similar on a e82.

I plan on picking up an RTD as well. How was the lead time once you placed your order?

Thank you! And mine took 5 weeks, but that's only because the version and color I wanted wasn't in stock when I placed my order. They got it to me in 3-4 days after they shipped it though.

Awesome that's not too bad at all!
Once you get to it, if you wouldnt mind reporting back here with any insight in regards to performing this install on a e82 it would be appreciated!

I have this in my car, wrote an article on it http://www.canadianautoreview.ca/pro...d-shifter.html

Was a bit of a pain to tighten/adjust one of the screws iirc because it was really close to the edge of the trim. Otherwise, it was pretty straightforward.

Was this the 360 or 300mm mini?

I have the "mini" not the full tall one. This is also a few years old, Maher has come out with so many new versions and finishes. Pretty jealous tbh haha.

Oh? Guess I have to go check it out. I'm a shift feel fanatic and need one of these in my life I think.

What's your opinion on the RTD knob vs the ZHP?

I prefer the ZHP knob, I was in a M2 recently and reminded of how much I like the ZHP knob. It'll look weird, but the owner of RTD can make one to accept ZHP knobs....lol but again, it'll look silly.

Are you able to order this for the 128i? I Saw that there is only a version for the 135i, but not the 128i.

I saw a 128i for sale on Bring a Trailer about a year ago with a RTD shifter. It said he used the AKG n52 DSSR to install it, since RTD only sells it with an n54 DSSR at the moment.

I am also trying to install the RTD (using the AKG DSSR), but AKG is sold out and every time I ask them when they will be making more, they keep pushing the date out further. If you guys are interested in this I suggest you bug AKG via email so they know there is demand for the part.
