128i - Manual, Slicktop
2010 128i Manual! Slicktop! White on black! - Clean Carfax - 94,029 miles Upgrading to something a bit newer and larger, but absolutely love this car. Sad to see it go but unfortunately don't have the funds to have two cars. Drives beautifully and sounds great too, NA in-line 6 for the win. Tires have been rotated every 3,000 miles and the oil / filter changed religiously every 5,000 miles. I have been using 10w-40 liquimoly with uv dye. I have a special black light flashlight I'll include that will spot any oil leaks and I'm happy to say the entire engine bay is free of leaks! A lot of work has gone into this car since I purchased it. All the spark plugs were replaced as well as two coil packs. It received a brand new battery, new headlight bulbs, new tires and a brake flush / fluid change. The brakes currently have 75% life left and are on drilled rotors, not sure what pads are on it from the previous owner. A few common N52 failure points have been addressed such as a plastic coolant hose fitting that disintegrates and leaks coolant everywhere. That plastic fitting was replaced with a metal fitting that will not fail as well as the coolant being topped off. The oil filter housing gasket was also replaced and the front of the engine cleaned of any oil. In addition the car just received a brand new idler pulley, tensioner and belt. I had my local BMW dealership perform 3 outstanding recalls and give me a report on the cars health (it's in excellent health). I was also told the suspension is in great shape, and it certainly feels that way. There is a dent on the passenger side from the previous owner. In addition the passenger side door handle has a crack in it, however it still works. I haven't bothered to fix either because they don't bother me. I can provide closeups of the dent and handle if requested. The car is currently sitting on four Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ with less than 10,000 miles on them. I got a nick in one tire and replaced it so one tire has less than 2,000 miles on it and I have the spare with the nick (still held air). If requested I can provide pictures of tread and the spare. The car currently is tinted all around (except windshield) and has a custom exhaust with 3inch stainless steel tips. Was ensured they will not rust along with any of the custom exhaust. In addition the car has a K&N drop in high flow air filter. Will upload sound clips. Love love love this car, they're so hard to find and I'm definitely going to miss it. Maybe someday I'll afford to have it as a second car Aiming to get at least $6500, think that's a pretty reasonable price. But I'll leave this up for around a two weeks looking for the best offer. Already have had a couple people inquire Will provide any photos requested Updated: Moved to this sub forum, car is in Colorado Springs and the vin is: Wbaup7c57avf07804 |

I assume he means Sport Package (option ZSP) which included 17-inch staggered wheels with performance tires, sport seats, sport suspension, Shadowline trim, and increased top-speed limiter.
Same wheel size as M-sport but different design. Same suspension as M-sport but without the aero-kit body panels, anthracite headliner, M-sport steering wheel, or sill badges. The "Line" crap is for modern BMWs. Last edited by BMWCCA1; 01-26-2021 at 06:51 PM.. |

And maybe even the wrong wheels? But I'm going by my wife's '08 Sport. Anybody run the VIN?
Can't run it in the BMW NA system as it was a Military Delivery and the US options don't apply or show up. The normal VIN decoders show no options beyond USB, Alloy Wheels Star Spoke 256 (no-charge option on 135i for US). Definitely no Sport anything listed. Not a sport package and there is no such thing as "sportline" on the E82.
OP just doesn't want to admit that he doesn't have a sport package. |

There are some people who would find a no options 128i like this very desirable, especially with the 6-speed manual and a slicktop. Add the Sport seats, upgrade the suspension, and change the steering wheel to M Sport, if you like.

^ Agreed. I basically have the same car but a year older, N51, and with the sunroof.
Without the sunroof, this is probably the lightest 1 Series you can get in the US. Given the fairly low price due to not being pristine, this would be the perfect base for a track-focused car. It's a blank canvas, and you aren't paying for the M Sport bits that you'd mostly end up swapping out anyway. I'd be all over it if I could justify a track-beater 128 to compliment my daily-beater 128. |

Yeah, the dent would always bother me, but this would make a great fun commuter or track car. At that age, I'd be refreshing the suspension anyway so who cares if it's on a base suspension? The Sport seats are worth it, but you can source those.
The Sport and M-Sport packages were a helluva good deal when these cars were new. At 100k miles, who cares? You're gonna be replacing many of the parts anyway. The most important quality is the fact that it's a slicktop.

100% spot on. ^
There's a set of manual/non-heated front sport seats on ebay right now that I'm eyeing for my car. Like you said, easy upgrade. And if anyone cares, I have a <35k mile M-sport spring/shock/swaybar kit for sale on the forum. |
