I think, I found a wheel and tire setup my wallet can handle.
Advanti Storm S1 (17x9, et45) and Federal 595RS-RR's. Trying to find cheap, not garbage, fits; it's a difficult task. I'm not confident in the offset. But as far as offsets go, I can add spacer to get to where it needs to be. Not a big deal. |

I would start with the fine then move on to the medium if you need to.
I've always used the fine, but had to resort to the medium several times when I picked up a bunch of overspray.

Heh. ABS light came on while driving in a straight line. I suspect it's the DSC module being hopelessly confused by the steering angle sensor (since my wheel is canted to the right about 20 degrees). I'll grab the codes once school lets-out, and go from there... Oops.

Didn't get the chance to look at my toe specs over the weekend, will later this week, or next weekend probably...
I did get a nice set of toe plates which should make the job much faster... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VAOHB2

Figured I better order up a pair of the rear performance brake calipers before/in case they become NLA. A rear hub swap is now on my to-do list.

Picked up some 1M parts this weekend, rear bumper and side skirts. Was fun getting them in and driving back. 'Avoid highways' was set on the GPS but it ended up taking me over a small bridge hahahaha that was interesting. Also got in a square foot sample of the new color to make sure I didn't hate it. The car will certainly be staying bright!
Rear quarter flares are enjoying route as well. I'm going to get started on fitting all this and order in the front bumper and fenders soon |

The new IC came in today- am a way happy camper!! Can't wait to get this installed and ditch that damn boost leak!
OE IC is meager by comparison! I'll grab a pic of the three together when I do the swap- OE, PR 5.5 & PR 7.5 Race

When you put it in, make up some simple bracing,
Just some Aluminum bar I had lying around. Cut to about 11" long and hole centers are just shy of 10". Bolts into subframe are just some M? self tappers I had. Dead simple and adds a ton of support for it. I can grab the cooler and shake my whole car now. |

Another day, another attempt at an alignment.
It was SUCCESSFUL!!! Front is at -2.5 degrees camber, -0.2 degrees toe (out). Rear is at -1.7 degrees camber, 0.8 degrees toe (in). I think the rear has too much toe-in, and, after concluding that I was measuring incorrectly the last time, the rear CAN go to zero toe. I just didn't feel like being that precise tonight. It feels very even left-to-right, and it feels responsive and smooth. It feels a lot more like the whole car is turning as one, instead of the front wheels turning around the rear wheels. Lol myself for reading it wrong when setting the laser

DSC/ABS light is on still. Carly says it is the lateral acceleration sensor with an implausible reading. Looks like I need to either a) turn the steering lock-to-lock a time or two, or b) hop on INPA and recalibrate the sensor.
Moral of the story; a correct alignment is important. Huh. Who woulda thunk?

Something else I didn't mention is something I'm working on already for the NEXT big thing to do to the E88. I wasn't surprised that there's never been a widebody kit for the 1M as it's a limited production car and all that. Most M cars at this point have some kind of kit out there to make the already fattened body even wider. I'm working with the designer of multiple BMW kits to possibly produce something for the 1M body. Design fees are already paid up and he has a few manufacturers he works with to produce his kits. Not sure if I'll make it available to the public or keep it as a one off yet. It'll reduce costs but knock out the exclusivity of it. Although I'm sure there's be next to no real 1Ms interested in cutting into their cars haha attached some of his design work. I'm not looking at going WILD wild but it'll obviously be aftermarket. No exposed rivets bs for me though

I'll mention I am looking to have a deeper transition into the bumpers than those renders. I don't like how they abruptly stop. So the flaring and transitions should be a lot smoother than those kits. This was an outline of where I'd want the kit to be.
