We're pretty close; I think I'm at around 32,000, with the first 26,000 miles being done by the original owner in Canada. Unfortunately, it's almost time to decommission my 1M again until next spring. I'm headed off to Europe in a couple of weeks and by the time I come back there will be so little time left before the bad weather starts, that it just makes more financial sense to put her in "drydock" and downgrade the insurance to "storage coverage" before I leave on my trip. Plus I have other cars and I have to drive them sometimes.

Yes, I know I need to drive the car but, unfortunately I'm in one location and the car is in another.. Just ordered new tires and hopefully will get it out for Independence Day weekend! |

Not really much to say, lol. I finally got a 4-post lift for the garage, and am now able to do things I'd never attempt on my back. While waiting for the coolant to drain, I started cleaning this and that. 20 hrs later...
A tip you won't hear many people talk about: Boeshield T9 (developed by Boeing to preserve aircraft parts while in storage) works great on all the aluminum bits you see pictured. I've found it keeps aluminum and zinc oxidation in check as long as it doesn't get washed off. I've been using it on my 1M for nearly 9 years, applied with 1 in foam brushes. The car has always been my baby. I'm the original owner, and it will hopefully stay in the family forever. |

Had the 4,200 mile unit out yesterday and when I came out of the store, there was a guy in his Mustang GT 350 (very nice car) parked next to me, waiting! He said he always wanted a 1M, but could not afford it when new.
Amazing how these cars attract visitors. |
