Daytime running light bulb replacement

Sorry for the noob question but my passenger side daytime running light bulb went out. Anyone know where I can get the oem bulb, part number and have instructions on how to replace?

Thanks in advance!

Howdy, the angel eye/halo ring bulb is an H8 bulb, could find those at any parts store. A lot of people change these for whiter LED options but you can use whatever floats your boat.

OEM PN here, it's #5: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=63_1294

Instructions here: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...dlight/PGsxLfW

The space is a little tight due to the oil cooler lines being in the way

Thanks! Figured it was simple.

Is it possible to get a brighter bulb (not LED) that will play nice with the car such that I don’t have to deal with any potential coding issues?

H9 and H11 bulbs can be made to fit, the bulb itself is the same shape but the locking tabs differ slightly. H8 is rated at 35w, H11 is 55w, and H9 is 65w, quite a big difference in output but trade off is shorter life. There are instructions online on how to trim them to fit.

Absolute brightest is converting to HID, but install requires trimming the headlight cover and finding a place to mount the ballast. End result is the halos are almost blindingly bright.

UK based but BMW do an upgrade H8 bulb.

Or Philips do a good version too:

I've been running the Philips for a few years now with no coding required and no reliability issues.

This is extremely helpful for a 1M newbie like me.

I'm looking to replace my current bulb (whiter shade LED) to the stock amber look. Does anyone got any idea where to source this online?

I just installed these bulbs. Nice upgrade from stock, and still using a halogen bulb.

For your consideration:

Finally an A-brand has released (albeit in a limited number of countries) a decent H8 led bulb without exterior driver/ resistor. Officially it’s a fog light, but from the brochure the bmw (M2) compatibility is obvious. Thus at no risk of headlight disruption, i decided to rid my 1M of its ugliest visual connection to the BMW E-family and bought these. While parked for the winter season, i’ll instal and review.

I highly recommend PIAA bulbs in whatever temp you like, and then using Carly/bimmergeeks to turn the angel eye voltage up to max intensity.

Don't install LED bulbs, you'll eventually damage the adaptive motor.

I think I found them in stock. These should work as plug and play without any issues right?

Hey eeghie, did you ever install new bulbs and, if yes, what do you think?
