18x8 ET45 square?

I did a search and googled but couldn't find much info because the silly search engines can't distinguish between 18x8 and 18x8.5 - pulls up both.

Anyone running 18x8 ET45 square and 245/35?

The 245/35 will fit on an 8" wheel and according to the 1010tires calculator the 18x8" ET45 will have 13mm more inner clearance & extend an extra 1 mm furhther.

It should fit front and rear without spacers being needed.

Not sure if you will have rubbing on the front tires. I'm going to 8 x 17" ET47 with 225/45-17 and picking tires that aren't too wide/blocky at the tread. Hopefully, there won't be clearance issues.

Using the Wheel Offset Calculator on 1010tires
(http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator#)

Stock Front 18x7.5 ET49 vs. 18x8 ET45 = 2mm less inner clearance & extends an out 10mm wider

Stock Front vs 18x8.5 ET45 = 9mm less inner clearance and pokes out 17mm wider. And guys are running this fitment square w/ 245s

Comparing 18x8.5 ET45 vs 18x8 ET45 wheel = the 8" wheel will have 6mm more inner clearance and also 6mm more outer clearance.

Seems it should work just fine. Likely without a spacer. Guys are using the stock 18x8.5 ET52 pm front with a 10mm spacer = 18x8.5 ET 42 which would have far worse clearance issues.

On the rear vs. stock the 8" wheel will give 3mm more inner clearance and extend just 1mm further out so no problem there.

The only issue really is that it will only allow for a 245/35 width max and that is also the narrowest wheel you want to go for a 245.

So what is the downside to running a 245 on 8" wheels?

Sorry to thread-jack, but I thought there was no way that setup would create a problem?

225 is rub free on the 135i

I'm planning either 245/35 square.

245/35 square is just fine using et45. put a 5mm spacer up front and all is well.
My current set up is 18x8.5 et45 square with 5mm front spacer. my only rub is in the rear when under hard compression at one spot on the track.

try to find a set of 8.5 and not worry about the sidewall flex on 8's. our cars rear moves enough with the swiss cheese rear bushings. i drove mine with m3's back to back with a stock setup and noticed it big time.
