Cobb Tuning questions - Maps

hi,

I have a BMW 1M and just got a Cobb Accessport. I have a question on which map to use. My car is stock except for a N55 midpipe and Borla cat back exhaust. I have 93 octane gas.

What does IKCOS stand for?

I want the stock throttle not linear, so my map choices are:

Stage 0 - IKCOS v400

Stage 1 - Agressive IKCOS v 301
Stage 1 - Sport IKCOS v301
Stage 1 - ST Agressive IKCOS v401
Stage 1 - ST Agressive IKCOS v402
Stage 1 - ST Sport IKCOS v402

Stage 2 - ST Agressive IKCOS v402
Stage 2 - ST Sport IKCOS v402

Which maps can I choose?

What does IKCOS stand for and what does v301, v402, v401 stand for?

thank you

Glenn

135i Cobb owner here.

You will need to stick with Stage 1 with your lack of mods (same as me).

IKCOS is the BMW software version on your ECU (mine is IJEOS).

The V301 etc. are the versions of the maps. Go with the highest number for the most up to date Off-the-Shelf map.

Stage 1 - ST Agressive IKCOS v402 is what I would try first to see what the car can do with current mods, then dial it back if you want (but why would you?).

Personally, I went with the less aggressive sport map for a week. Made sure there were no issues and then flashed the stage 1 aggressive.

OP, you can also datalog once you flash the map to make sure you're hitting boost and there's not too much timing correction and all that.
