yeah its pretty easy once u know how to, i remember doing mine as getting a credit card, sliding it under the metal layer beneath the light, and pry it off, then u rotate it to get the housing out, and u switch out the lights or the whole sidemarkers with ease...U wont break anything prying em off against ur car wit a credit car, so dont worry

I have. See pic in this thread.
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=216869 I like the LED instead of the bulb. The install is very easy. Last edited by nordique14; 08-10-2009 at 12:10 AM.. Reason: updated link |

I have installed the LED smoked markers on an SGM. It was easy but I wish they were darker. From many angles during the daylight, they hardly look smoked at all! Still, compared to stock, they are nicer and I would recommend it.

I know this is an old thread but I wanted to confirm these definitely dont slide and pop out like the old BMW side markers. Like noted above, stick a credit card underneath the light toward the rear of the car side of the marker, then just pry it toward you.
You really have to pry pretty hard to get it out.... Got my white LEDs in to replace the orange bulbs. |

Did yours slide like in the video? I tried again and still doesn't budge and I am putting some pretty solid pressure on it. The CC wont bend a fender, I assume all the CC does by jimmying it in under the light compresses the clip enough to pop it out.

it was a little hard at first but once it budged it slid exactly like the video. the CC won't bend the fender but the metal clip/spring may get caught on the fender and bend it when just prying it off that's why I recommend trying your hardest to get the sidemarker to budge and slide like in the video before even thinking to just pry it off.

alright so i used the credit card method and it worked, my sidemarkers are out, but now how do i change the bulb?? all i have is the marker and the white thing that holds the bulb. Do i just put the white part off?
edit: I got it, i just have to get a small flat head, and pull the white tab up and twist. For future references!!

I did the credit card method and it popped off quite easily. I first tried to slide the marker forward and lift, but it wasn't budging at all.
I used a thin plastic membership card that flexes a little and slid it underneath from the back and it popped once the card reached the middle. I have a 2012, and the card method seems to be the best way to pop it. |
