Judder/Shake when setting off?

I love my car everyday, but...

Occasionally, when setting off, my car judders/shakes, sometimes violently (head-banging ensues). It only really happens when it's warm outside and/or I'm in traffic or driving through a stop-signed intersection in the aforementioned weather conditions. It goes away with more revs or backing off the clutch for a second. FWIW, I've also got the lovely DMFW clunk and chatter thing going on, so I have a feeling that it's the source of this problem.

Big question: is a single-mass flywheel in my near future?

Clutch chatter is a pretty common thing. Might just mean the clutch is reaching that ripe old age.

Also single masses on these rattle the car at idle - esp with the AC on. Not too bad but if you value comfort and NVH it might not be for you

I don't mind rattling and chattering (because racecar ), I mind the drivability issues of an old DMFW, and clunks drive me crazy.

I have this same thing, Its not a huge shake but definitely does't feel normal for a clutch. Im wondering if better trans mount and engine mounts would help

I think it will. I've had this happen a handful of times, but since I've got new clutch fluid, E46 M3 trans mounts and new OEM motor mounts it only happened once so far.

Looks like I should replace the motor mounts. (I like working on my car!)

I have a box of parts in my room that includes a new starter and cable, motor mounts, diff bushings, M3 subframe bushings, F30 335i rear calipers (won't fit at all), and a fog light assembly...
