Obsessed Garage (YouTube) bought a 1M

Matt who has been on the Bimmerpost Forums for years, is a very detailed guy - He has good taste in cars and now owns a 1M.

That's awesome, but sad to see my pal Alan sell her.

I felt the same about my Akra, it's actually the lack of resonators and cats. Add those back in and she will purr like a Persian kitty.

Looking forward to watching his comparison between his 1M and M3 when he does it.

Nice. I like his channel. However that trunk is awful. Fit looks really bad. Drooling over the seats though.

Lets see, he has a 1M, Raptor and gt3 rs. I have a 1M, Raptor and 997 TT-S. Looks like I need to trade the turbo for an RS!

I think he got rid of the Raptor to fund the E92 M3 competition package car he just picked up. A 1M, E92 M3, and GT3 RS aren't a bad stable!

Ah, too bad. Love his e92 though. No way I could get rid of the Raptor for M3. Road trips, sports, bulk items, etc. The RS is tempting but back seat is keeping me in the Turbo until I can justify allowing the kid in the front seat!

There seems to be so many car videos out in the market now.

I guess how do you know who is who and what there background is which qualifies their opinion as being valid???

Don't get me wrong, I like watching these videos....I'm just trying to figure out who is who?

Any recommendations of car reviewers that really get it aside from the Top Gear guy?

Doug Demuro is probably the most unbiased but most detailed, though he can be kind of dry and boring

Hoovies Garage and Tavarish are my favorites though for pure entertainment. I think they appeal way more to the average Joe

I love Doug's quirkiness...for lack of a better term, and for pun-factor. Tyler is awesome, and easily my favorite YouTuber, and Tavarish has some of the best/most varied content that can err on the technical side (in a good way).

I might add David Patterson (ThatDudeInBlue), he's pretty unbiased and just appreciates a unique build. I really loved his review on the VQ35-swapped Maxima...

Obsessed Garage is cool for the sheer amount of attention to EVERY little thing, but it makes the content really dry and polarizing...

I recently came across a YouTuber named savagegeese and have found his car reviews to be pretty balanced. I don’t think he has reviewed a 1M but would be entertained to hear his thoughts.

There are a lot of car you-tubers that are just people video logging about their lives and I am not a fan of that, but they have huge car collections and large followings, seems more about the lifestyle than any car knowledge....

I do watch Schmee (who would fall in that category) because he adores the Focus RS owning three of them and has a lot of content related to that. Some people can't stand him, but hearing him interviewed and having his business manager active on the M2 Forums, his team seems really down to earth, IMO.

I follow Obsessed Garage, because we bought F80's at the same time. It is more detail and washing oriented, not for everyone.

Here are my other subscriptions Some post every 8 months some post everyday.

Driveopolis. He is the best car reviewer IMO. Great, great reviews. He does them for this site, but does very few.

Chris Harris.

The Getawayer.

Smoking Tire. He can annoy me, but his car knowledge is pretty good and puts out lots of content. If you think, I would love to have a 997 4s lightly modded he has probably reviewed it. He has reviewed everything seemingly.

AutoTopNL. They are great, they love the 1M, very good channel. It is POV.

DPCars. Breaking news like the new 992 Porsche they are up with a vid right away.

Motortrend. They have lost a few guys but Jethro is really good.

Carfection. Like their content a lot.

Doug DeMuro. He has driven everything so his opinion is layered in driving a lot of cars

EverydayDriver. They are really good.

Savagegeese

Straight Pipes. Really good camera work, not sure on their car knowledge TBH.

A bunch of F80 channels
A bunch of Focus RS channels
A bunch of 911/Cayman channels

Zygrene. Really good reviewer, loves the 1M.

Petrolicious

MotoManTV

Drivetribe

Brian Makse

Autocar. They love the 1M since 2011

Throttle House

Glenn’s Car Collection. 1M content

I’ve recently started following Joe Achilles videos after seeing his review on the 1M. Seems like a very down to earth guy and loves his BM’s!

What's up everyone! I resemble those remarks about being "boring." Ha, ha... I started my YouTube channel as a way to get out my own head. I never could have predicted what it would become to the few that identify with my brand of crazy.

I'm digging this car. I just ordered a bunch of stuff for it. I got all the stuff to put the stock trunk back on. I'm doing Dinan intake, Active Charge Pipe, HMS Full Exhaust, putting the OEM trunk back on with M performance spoiler. I just ordered some OE GTS wheels in black and Michelin PS4 255/275. I'll probably do some Brembos on it as well. It will be interesting to see how this compares over time to my E92 M3.

Hey Matt, I bought an F80 around the same time as you. Your posts were great, the level of detail was astonishing to tell the truth.

I like your straightforward "this is me" style.

Love the car! IMO - The black OEM Competition wheels are my favorite BMW wheels of all time and they make the 1M look great. I think you will love them. The 1M gets sweeter with more time behind the wheel.

Hi Money

Good luck with the 1M. Back in 2015, I bought my first Porsche 911, a Carrera GTS with centerlocks. I had an issue with the wheels and stumbled on your You Tube page. You were taking off the wheels on your GT3. I endedup buying a GT3 a month later. Like you, I am a BMW and Porsche guy. Like you, I have been through many cars. I used to own a 1M, and I know that it has its many fans. I realized that I need to stop buying. and enjoy what I have. I decided to just get cars that I can enjoy on the street since I do not track. My current stable is a 1989 BMW M3, a 2006 Porsche Carrera S, and a 2013 BMW 135is, the poor man’s 1M, for my daily. Watching your site has taught me a-lot about washing my cars and learning about my cars. I just want to say thanks and hope you enjoy the 1M. Now I want an E92 M3.

Glad you made your way over to 1Addicts! Found your channel through Adam LZ and his single turbo 335i, and you've helped me realize I'm not alone in my obsessiveness of vehicles and meticulously caring for them. I was enjoying your build on the E92 M3, and was elated to see you pick up the 1M. I was also surprised as it really didn't seem like your cup of tea with the mods/look it had, but I'm sure you'll get it dialed in. Simply going back to a set of refinished black ZCP wheels from the M3 will do absolute wonders. I know you've mentioned giving it away, so I'll be patiently waiting for ways to enter.

Thanks for all the free content and I'll continue to be jealous of your stable and where you house them. Hope the dream of the OG destination comes to fruition as well!

Love Matt's cars and his garage as always, glad he put some stock parts back, wasn't really feeling the trunk it came with. Funny thing, I've been watching his recent video on his first drive after mods, and someone commented on how he talks trash about the N54 all the time, although I don't agree with the fact that you trash talk the N54 all the time, it does seem you're quite biased about the engine in general. It got a bit intense but the comments made a few good points.
