Have you had a Benz? If not than you don't know what im talking about. They treat you like a king from the second you walk in and they keep on treating you like that even during servicing. .

Lexus as well. if you want a great BUYING experience... get a Lexus or a Mercedes. If you want a great CAR... get a BMW . If you want a great buying experience with your BMW.. then go for European Delivery

There have been many times where i took my mom's car in for servicing and if a CA is free he'll take me out a test drive in w.e is new just because. MB has given me loaners from any dealer regardless of where i purchased it. A lot of BMW dealers won't do that.
I've had the same experience re: MB vs. BMW dealerships. Having owned one brand or the other, sometimes both simultaneously, MB has the superior service.

My purchasing experiences with BMW have been positive, but to varying degrees.

I just picked up my 1SMC yesterday at Faulkner BMW in Lancaster, PA and Jonathan Hoxworth was most accomodating and pleasant throughout, from the day of deposit through delivery. There was no shenanigans, and they honored MSRP. Jonathan has always been a straight-shooter, and has interest in the brand more than you would expect for the average sales staffer.

Having purchased BMWs elsewhere, I can say that their sales performance is otherwise lackluster. Not abysmal, but not very engaging. Maybe this corresponds with their presumed "model customer" base. My last X3 purchase went without a hitch, but I had to remind my rep several times about my options selections, and his knowledge of the product was poor. Perhaps my expectations are too high in that I expect them to understand the difference between an E30 and an E21, or whether a vehicle has a CDV or not. Nonetheless, I think the folks at that other dealership need to brush up on their knowledge base.

All told over the years, I would have to say my best sales experience previously was Saturn. Each time I purchased, the sales staff were knowledgeable, genuinely friendly, and never pushy.

If BMW could combine that with the product they'd see sales extend further.

F & I will do more damage to customer relations than any other department in a dealership. They make Tony Soprano look like a softie and honest.

As to notifying News 12: "so you're the viewer!" Go to one of the NY majors. Or Triple A news like WPIX-11. They have a segment "Help Me Howard."

Sadly that is not my experience. Gotta love living in a place where there is 1 Bmw, 1 MB, 1 Jag dealer... sets the bar way too low, no competition.

I was thinking about buying a EVO X when they came out, but I didn't because even after they ran my credit check (stellar) they insisted that I bring a cashiers check for the cost of the car before I test drove it. How insane is that? Bought the 135 the next week.

I agree wholeheartedly. I can't believe the number of car sales people that know nothing about what they are selling, for years....
How hard is it? There is a very limited model count and feature set.
