I would guess it was to make the biker get over. When there is a faster car behind you, you must pull to the right and allow the faster car to pass.

Maybe i could go faster in the track prep CSL who knows but that s not the point. I would not be 25 sec faster with it. I can t believe that. That s the difference between the 1M and M3 CSL when they are both off factory tested by SportAuto.
All i know the CSL is the faster car because it has all the track goodies. But if i can stay real close already with my 1M. This all tells me that a 1M is closer to CSL off factory Sportauto nurburgring time then what was written on paper. It s either 7.50 plus for the CSL or it s a 8.15 Minus for the 1M. Proberly a bit of both. |

Why do you feel this way?!? I am so curious to know as to your look on the stock seats and well they can/ can not emulate a racing seat. If so how do you do it

I think he is saying if the passenger seat was at the highest position, the gopro would have had a better view of the track.

He meant that the best angle for the camera attachment would have been with the seat raised. I've made the same mistake.

I've never driven a csl or a 1m so take my comment with a grain of salt.
I have 3 track days under my belt and this past weekend I passed 2 track prepped(gutted, caged, brakes, rcomps, motor?) e46 m3s that happen to be regulars at buttonwillow. I also have it on video. I spoke with the drivers after and they confirmed that they weren't sand bagging. But then again there was another near stock m3 that was posting times nearly 6 seconds quicker than the track prepped m3s. So if I were to use the critical thinking skills being used in this thread I would conclude that my car is quicker than a track prepped m3 but slower than a stock m3?? There is way too much ignorance and fanboism in this thread. It should have just been kept as watch my cool video.... Great video and driving btw!

Everybody has it s opinion. That s how it should be. All i am saying is a off factory 1M does not loose 25 secs on Nurburgring lap against an off factory M3 CSL. And if you mount the same tires as a CSL the 2 cars will be real close. Seat was to low for camera that s all i should put the seat higher for better angle. |

Interesting point of view. But have you owned both a CSL and a 1M, like Advevo?

That is simply wrong. Ask CSL owners that have a.) had their cars dynoed and b.) weighed. Most of the cars have less power and weigh more than they should. The 1Ms I know of, that have been dynoed so far came close to 360 PS, so the two cars are fairly evenly matched as far as power is concerned and a basic config 1M is not that much heavier. The 1M has more bottom end grunt and that makes a big difference on the Nordschleife. It doesn't really matter in some corners if you use 3rd or 4th... the car just pulls. Drive the same corner in an M346/CSL and don't hit the rev range and you'll simply lose time. Actually in the 1M, I could drive the entire lap in 4th and 5th if I wanted or had to. Not much shifting to be done. I agree with Andre and so do quite a number of others that have had the direct comparison. Like it or not, the 1M is a very fast car and if you tweak it a little, you have a CSL killer. CSL owners that also own 1Ms will tell you the same thing. But that to me is not a negative... the CSL is now an eight year old car. And, there is a big BUT... the emotions a CSL creates... no way in the world will a 1M be able to match those! You can hear the CSLs sound in Andres video... no further explanations necessary.

First off all, great video. Thanks for sharing.
I think M3 CSL can be that fast. 25seconds seems a lot but we're talking about an 8 minute lap. M3 CSL is lighter and has comparable power. I just don't see how 1M can be quite as fast as M3 CSL. In your case, you are a racing driver.. So it really isn't a good way to judge how fast a 1M can go compared to M3 CSL driven by a non-race driver. I bet you can go faster than me even if I have a F458.. Because I'm only in Group C, and never driven in Nurburgring. Is that make 1M as fast as F458? Quote:

Andre, nice vid. I've enjoyed all your vids and admire your car control. I hope to see a few more runs once you've gotten used to the track.
On a separate note, this thread has been surprisingly free of douchebag posts with one notable exception. Let's hope he goes away and trolls the Honda forums he talks about.

Hey Andre, nice video as usual. Although I reckon I could do a similar video...ok fine, I would be 30s slower but it will look the same if you don't time it lol. On a serious note, what is your fastest time BTG on your GT3? Love to have a reference given that we don't know how quick you are at the Ring. You could be the world's fastest Ring driver for all we know!

I agree, but having a race prepped car, or driving on the track every week doesn't make you racing driver either. Having this as profession, meaning proving your skills amongs other in competetive arena and getting paid for it is a lot different than just doing lapping days.

+1, I don't understand why someone would even go off the deep end with this statement. OEM to OEM the CSL and 1M are probably very close to each other on the ring. I don't think it warrants the personal attack against the OP, like this(below):
