Since you're asking, no. I guess you're talking about the evap storage cannister.

If you wanted to make your car not street legal and unable to pass inspection, you could take out the cannister, but why stop there? Take out the whole system and just put a filter on the evap line from the gas tank. Then your car will smell like gas when it gets hot. I hear that's how it was in the old days.

You could delete them I guess. But then your HVAC would only work/blow air thru your defroster vents. The vacuum canisters are needed to the HVAC system can work when your go WOT, foot to the floor! They provide a vacuum reserve for about 30 seconds. I know this bc when I go WOT... sometimes I am am going WOT so long that the HVAC cents start lowing only thru the top defroster vents!!

No need to get upset people. I was cleaning my engine bay and I snapped the little nipple on the vacuum canister and i have already bought a new oem one from BMW but I just didn't know what exactly the canister was there for and if deleting it was even a big deal. Got my answers thank you all for your reply.
