How to remove waterspots on windshield?

I had my first waterspots doused on my car today - was eating brunch and came out and saw water all over front windshield and hood.

I took the car to a carwash to get a handwash/hand wax. (Before you judge about why I'm not washing myself - the City and HOA at my place forbids washing our cars in our garage [due to water conservation rules in our city])

The car wash guys did a fair job - they at least rinsed and washed the car three times and spent 10 minutes just on washing the wheels alone.

When I got home - I noticed there were some residual waterspots on the windshield. I couldn't get rid of it with several scrubbing with window cleaners...

any ideas and suggestions?

try a water and distilled vinegar solution, that's what was recommended to me and worked on all of them except for the real deep ones already etched.

Maybe I'm missing something... there are waterspots you can't get out after washing your car 3 times? I just wash my car regularly and all waterspots (it's been raining a LOT lately) come off no problem.

Maybe off topic, but you guys know that area of your windshield that the wiper misses (top+corners) that always seems to have different water repelling qualities from the rest? Any idea how to clean those areas effectively? (or maybe the main area is the problem).

Try a 50/50 mix of water and vinegar. If that doesn't work I highly recommend the Glass Science Glass Scrub. It gets rid of about 98% of the water marks I have to deal with. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you Sir - I'll try out the water+vinegar ratio but will keep my eye out for the Glass Scrub and Rain Clear stuff.

Greg - what's your experience with Glass Science Rain Cl Dual-Action Glass Cleaner & Rain Repellant? it is better to get the 2 separate products or will this hybrid product function be competent enough?
