My 1M -- now with 2.7 degrees of camber up front -- was much happier on the track (Summit Point Main) yesterday.

Of course, less understeer meant the back end was a bit more willing to step out, but it sure was fun!

I did, however, throw a brake-related code for "accelerator pedal module and brake pedal, plausibility (Code 2F8F)." Apparently, the ecu gets confused when braking agressively and hitting the throttle at the same time.

No, I wasn't doing smokey burnouts, but I was heel-and-toe downshifing and suspect that's what triggered the code. FWIW, a good friend with a E9x M3 also triggered this code when on track.

I was also running PFC-01 pads, so it's also possible that the ecu just isn't calibrated for alot of treshold braking with a serious track pad.

Thanks for the update. Anymore negative experiences with CBC acting up?

I wouldnt say that its CBC ( corner brake control) acting up, as he wouldn't be heel-toeing in the corners....at least he better not be LOL..

I would more tend to think maybe BMW made the Throttle / Brake application threashold less since the "toyota" issue.. Big brother may want to record issues much sooner than before so that they can show that the driver has pressure on both pedals... just a thought..

My question was regarding his experience from a previous track day, not the throttle/brake issue. I was just curious if the previously observed behavior reared it's head again, that's all. Thanks

What - camber are you running on the rear. Are the tires wearing evenly on track?

Now that I know what it is, it is less worrisome (but no less annoying).

As I discussed in the prevous thread, it only happens when trail braking.

2 degrees camber in back.

Tire wear is now much better than previously with 1.5 degrees.

I figure I now have the balance about right -- I'll wear out the outside edge on track and the inside edge with daily street driving.

"Jeez, where's automerge when you need it?"

Auto merge hurts your post count/street cred.

Is 2.7° most effective in eliminating understeer or just the max value you could attain? Stock wheel/tire setup? Can you go into more detail on the mods needed to use the plates?

I plan on using my 1M competitively in autoX. Thanks for the info Neil!
