Doesnt it make sense that those of us that have been waiting 3+ years would be first in line ahead of those just getting in line? The upside is that everyone will be taken care of.

For sure not, I'm paying very close attention to the N55. Unfortunately, or fortunately, there is one one of me. I'm cranking away as fast as I can! Cheers, Rob |

True more N54 owners, but also a lot more competition of tunes, You have GIAC, Dinan, Procede and JB . Also the Accessport doesn't support the highly modified guys who have downpipes, meth, etc yet.
N55 has very little competition at this point. Only a mild JB tune and Procede. There are no flash tune for the N55 at this point. I bet N55 owners would buy just as many units as the N54 owners at this point. Just my $.02. Either way I will wait fot the N55 AP.

How about you take pre-orders for the N55 version...and then if you get enough interest, maybe it would encourage you guys to accelerate development? :-D |

It took a long time to reverse engineer the N54 ECU. We have just begun to roll out the AccessPORT for this engine and still need to work on maps, 2007 support, XI support, IS support, tuning software support, etc. There is still a lot of work to do on the N54 platform before we can put forth significant effort into reverse engineering the N55. Furthermore, we don't know how long reverse engineering the N55 will take. Sometimes ECU's from a given manufacturer are very similar from engine to engine, sometimes they are very different. A lot depends on how much we learned from the N54 ECU can be carried over to the N55 ECU. We know there is a lot of excitement for an N55 AccessPORT solution. We are excited about it ourselves. We just can't provide an idea of when we might have a solution ready for it. Thanks! Gary |

You can not compare this to JB4/3 or Procede.. they are piggy backs to the ECU, this is a flash..
I have couple of concerns: - How many time you can flash/re flash your ECU?? Some flashes have limited write time. - What if shit happened during the reflash?? you will be screwed.. The Dealer will know you flashed the ECU!!! With JB3 you just remove it, be careful not to leave any physical evidence around the ECU compartment.. (+ delete the code if there are any) FYI.. I do not own a JB3/Procede yet and I am not a fan boy.. just my $0.02

To the COBB folks (and sorry for the partial hijack): do you envision working on a tune for the upcoming 1 ///M given it's relatively small production number count? Thx

Besides, what is the major comment on the 1M from all enthousiasts that were eagerly awaiting it? 'only 340 HP' ??? -> = large potential customer base for COBB, even with limited production numbers for the 1M. |

Agreed. Plus, it is an ///M car so it is something a credible tuner like COBB would like to have in their portfolio me thinks

Yes. In fact, you can use the AccessPORT as a gauge for the following:
All of these can be data logged as well. Thanks! Gary |

What would be the point? Flash the car put it AP in your glove box and drive the damn car...
If you want gauges every where go buy a Civic

My friend mounted his AP in his STi to his vent with one of those cell phone holders that I mentioned before and it's pretty cool. Although I have heard that you can burn your screen out on the AP quicker that way. |

It's not so important with our Off the Shelf maps, but once folks start getting into self tuning, seeing some of those monitors in real time can give important feedback. Gary |

On the Cobb site, an AT transmission sees gains of ~6% less as compared to a MT. Thanks! Scott
