doing M-mods to a 1er...

Hi Guys,

First off... I don't really have M-envy... I am more just curious as to what it would look like on a 135i with some M-parts bolted on.

Has anyone installed M-mirrors on a 1er over here? I have never seen pics of this. I have heard a few German guys have done this to 135i's. I heard that IF you have the larger 2010 mirrors its a straight up bolt on mod. Anyone know for sure?

I also took these close up pics of a M3 at the Welt. I was kind of interested how BMW did the CF roof and antenna and roof rails. Maybe it will help ppl decided on doing a CF roof wrap and how to do the little details.

Dackel.

M3 seen at the Welt last week.

anyone install these type mirrors on a 1er?

CF roof details upclose...

roof rails and ant painted black gloss...

Interested in any and all comments.

Someone posted a pic of a 135i with M3 mirrors somewhere on this forum. I think it was white, and on a track day. I think they look goofy to me, especially on the 135i.

As for the roof, many people have done that 3M carbon-look wrap. It looks great, but Im still holding out for an actual CF overlay for the roof. CF overlays are a common mod in the JDM world, so why not the DTM world?

I kinda like the M3 mirrors on a 135i or get a pre-2010 mirrors. I was really disappointed when I was told that 2011 models mirrors dont fold..not a huge fan of the dumbo ears..

You can take almost every suspension part off of an M3 and put it on a 135

My thoughts too Ian! I would much rather spend the money on the go-fast suspension parts than the "show me" M parts.

I am just wondering why I have not even seen one guy here put M-mirrors on their car. ? Its probably because of the cost of the M-mirrors.
