From Los Angeles to Mexico and Back
Well, nearly Mexico; all the way down to the border.
First a few things about the car: started with about 570 miles on it, just below half a tank of gas; no sport package: no bucket seats. iPod interface, and premium sound. BMW Assist mainly for bluetooth. It rides well. However, on the ride back my @$$ was falling asleep. My GF who rode with me kept herself thoroughly entertained playing with the iPod from the dash. She was so happy when she found she could search for the song she wanted to hear by artist, album, or song title. She eventually landed on listening to Britney Spear's Circus album more times than I cared to count. I hated that part...I have Womanizer stuck in my head this morning... The bass in this car kicks. I set my equalizer settings to curve; starts on the left side slightly high, dips down in the middle, and curves back up on the right side. I put the subs up to volume 3, don't want it that loud. Every gear pulls. After putting it in 6th at about 70-80MPH, if you need to quickly speed up, you needn't shift down. Just push the accelerator a little harder. I'm still on my break in, but now I'm at just under 800 miles. I drove it down and back starting off with under half a tank. Came back to my area with the fuel warning 18 miles to go. Filled up and went home. Happy New Year 1 and All.

Maybe...I did the twisties of Ortega Highway and Angeles crest on my CBR...not too crazy about trying that in a car.
As strange as it may sound, I'm more confident going fast, and fast through corners on two wheels than I am in a four wheel cage. I know, I know, I'm probably safer in a car, but I just prefer a bike to a car when I have the need for speed.

that's one thing I notice about this car. The way the suspension is setup doesn't command confidence in corners (comparing to the Z4). it's probably the horrible body roll. I hope when I finally save up for a set of coils and sways it'll fix this.

Start with H&R FRONT anti-roll bar (upgrade)... FLATTER (much less roll) corners for around $300. You'll feel it in every quick turn; HUGE difference on the track.
