No, you guys are right. I won't meet anybody if I don't go out...that's what my friends tell me to try and get me to go out with them. But sometimes I get the feeling that I won't meet anyone if I DO go out. Out of all the times I've gone out clubbing and drinking, I've never met anyone with my friends.

And how do you? You can't do any talking in a club. The only other option is to go out by myself. But I'm not sure I've got the confidence to go out to the bars myself...you've got to have your self esteem in good standing to do that. But I don't. I'm still surprised at myself that I'm able to make it out to the gym alone...

Looks like the closest one is in south philly, about 80 miles away...a little too far for me right now, but who knows...looks like that's the place to go if I ever get desperate...

I would never ever go to a bar by myself but it seems that's a good way to pick people up if you can bring yourself to do it. I was in an airport alone once and I went up to one of the bars to get a beer and watch the baseball game. I was mortified but I didn't have a choice if I wanted to see the game and like 3 guys talked to me while I was sitting there for 30 minutes - that never happens in a bar/club when I'm with my friends. I've heard many similar stories.

Sharp, not to be mean, but starting a tread about this explains why you are having trouble finding a girl. Start thinking outside the box, try to feel good about yourself, and women will like you!

Have a good time and stop stressing yourself out.

If you say your a decent looking guy, and your outgoing you shouldnt have any probs. Just gotta get the confidence. I have no prob in asking a guy out.. why? Cause if i get rejected, who cares..? But in order to find out that she's in crisis, first you have to build a friendship...and that's not what I'm looking for per se. That's one of the worst things you can do is put yourself in the "just friends" category! No, if she turns me down, chances are she'll never see me again.

So I haven't put in my 1 cent on this whole issue until people started babbling about the concept of utilizing carefree dismissal of a girl's marital/relationship status when in the hunt for some booty...

First of all, the salacious fellow preying on a "spoken-for" girl must obviously just be looking forward to satisfying his horny needs instead of looking for a relationship because no logical guy would be stupid enough to hook up with a girl who cheated on her previous boyfriend. The affair alone is stigma that stings for the future to come. The girl herself, by most cases, would also be a dolt for cheating on her boyfriend in order to go out with someone else.

It's analogous to me wanting a parachute with a reserve that failed to deploy when used by the previous parachuter.
