N55 Vargas Crank Capture

I have a 9/2010 2011 135i coupe.

Last March I purchased the crank capture piece directly from Vargas.

After removing the 8 small bolts holding the balancer on, I can not get the piece to slide far enough over the hex of the crank bolt to sit flush against the balancer.

All of the pictures I have seen online show the piece sitting flush with the end of the crank bolt.
Mine sits flush with the end of the crank bolt, but leaves 1/8-1/4" gap beneath it as if there is supposed to be a spacer involved.

There are no markings on the part itself.
I don't know if I was shipped the wrong part, though it states S55/N55 on my invoice. There is a different part on their site for N54, but the pics look the same.

I tried calling them yesterday, but they do not provide product support over the phone.

I sent them an email through the form on their site and have not received a reply yet.

Has anyone else installed one of these and had this issue? I tried the search option, but didn't find anything.
