How can I tell if the wheels I'm buying will fit my car?
I'm planning to pick up a set of winter tires this week for my E82. The tires are sized 205/55/16 and I know that the wheels they come with are style 66 replicas that would have been on an E90 3 series. The seller hasn't provided the full wheel measurements, but my old set of winter tires are the same size so would it be fair to assume that they'll fit my car given that the set I'm buying will fit?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, this is my first car and I'm trying to learn as much as I can. |

The tires are certainly OK but E90 wheels have an offset of 35 I believe and you need about 47. You'll likely need spacers. The seller should be able to provide a good pic of the interior of the wheel where you can see specs. I'm expecting to see 16x7 and IS35.

Based on the info I see here. These will not fit your 1 Series due to the aggressive offset.
If you can confirm the specs of the wheels, it would be easy to tell you one way or another.

I guess your concern is if it's gonna clear the brake caliper...
If so: - I'd say you can use a measuring tap and measure Radius (between wheel center and outside of brake caliper). - Then multiply Radius by 2 - Make sure the inner diameter of the wheels you are buying is at least that value (Radius times 2). Hoping this helps |
