Recommended Non-Runflats for use with Performance Suspension
Will be installing Performance Suspension for 2009 128i coupe. Which non-runflats are good with this suspension? I am looking at Michelin Pilot Sport PS2, Continental Extreme Contact DW and Hankook Ventus V12. These will be 205/50/17. I have heard that the Hankooks may be softer than either the Michelin and/or the Continental. And that the Continentals are more noisy. Any thought on the tire that would work best and its characteristics with PS woulod be appreciated.

Well, obviously the Pilot Sports have a great rep, so you probably couldn't go wrong with them. They are spendy, though. There are also the new Michelins, Pilot Super Sports or something.
I've got Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs - great tires, and a steal at the price for which they sell. Only downside I can think of is that they're noisy - I don't really mind, but I can see how some people would. Sort of takes away from the "lux" feel of the car a bit, if that makes sense. I'm afraid I don't know anything about the other tires you mentioned. BTW, why aren't you looking at sizes wider than 205? |

I did not know that anything wider would fit on the rim. Tell me the lo-down on going to a wider size tire. What is the next size up to replace the 205/50/17 tire I now have?
