Any of you CO folk out in the snow today?

Saw quite a few people slipping around today, curious how you all did out and about today.

My 1er slept quietly in the garage today.

Yup. Backing out of my garage into the unplowed alleyway was a bit interesting, but I did ok once underway. I have WS-60s on the car, I don't know if it would be any good with a lesser tire.

The open diff really hurts in the snow. I can feel one wheel start to spin, and the car gently drifts that direction.

Nope. But the roads did clear up this afternoon and there was a BMW that spun out going westbound on US 36. Car ended up facing oncoming traffic. Eastbound lane had a van overturned on its side and slid into the center divider. Guess people were speeding thinking the clear roads meant no ice.

Nope, I still haven't mounted the LM-25s I bought yet. My car has been sitting in my garage for three days.

I'm loving the weather this week. The 1er stayed in the garage for the snow, and my WRX stayed parked because it is still on the summer tires. I took on the snow in my old Integra instead.

Supposed to be coming Monday from what I hear. I was going to wash my car, but I guess it isn't really worth it now. Do you guys know approximately how much it costs to mount tires?

I've paid anywhere from $12 - $20 per tire for mounting (on the rim, not the car) and balancing. It's all about having a separate set of rims for your winter tires.

Yup. Separate set of wheels, a racing jack and an impact wrench and you can swap your wheels every time it gets warm outside.

I'm planning to turn my 261s into my winter set up. I'm still debating on what rims I should get for summer: O.Z. Ultraleggera or Advan RZ.

I have to agree that having two sets of rims makes it extremely convenient. I use to have that for my WRX.

I drove my first 135i on the 14th, Saturday. Down here in the Springs, it was raining with some light snow. Pretty squirrely in the wet ....

I ordered one that day! Can't wait.
