How to import a BMW into Canada without getting rear ended

As of Apr 2014, anyone purchasing goods over $2500 and shipping to Canada must have an ITN/AES number. Have a friend buying a BMW in USA and he needs this.

Imported a 2006 330 XiT 6MT from Germany. Not cheap but it's what I wanted. Just the 1 way flight Ottawa-Halifax was $380. It's much cheaper now. Immediately drove car 1491 kms Halifax-Ottawa. Car ran like a dream. Safety inspection by best BMW indy garage in Ottawa and it easily passed first try.
