2012 N55 Steering Rack Help

About a month ago my steering rack started to leak and I have been looking all over for a replacement rack with active steering. I am trying to avoid paying the ridiculous price for a new rack with active steering. My question, can I rebuild my current rack? Can I install a regular rack and code out the AS? Any help to guidance would be helpful. Thanks!
