Unfortunately, yes. Cars are not selling, and they have to get rid of the lower producers. Prior to my 135i, my prior 4 bimmer purchases were with replacement CAs. With my 135i, I went to the Sales Mgr and said that I want to deal with somebody that will still be there when I take delivery.

My CA took a higher level job at a different dealership a couple of weeks after we did the paper work. Luckily I did PCD, so no problem on delivery. Actually the replacement CA was rather good. So I got an X5 from him last week.
It's sad when you lose your CA, I gave mine a hug when he told me. It is like losing a part of your family if your have developed a good relationship over years with a CA.

actually, ive noticed quite a high turnover rate at my local dealership...i talked with 3 different CA's in 4 months and since having the car, 2 different SA's have called and said that theyre taking over my "file" and to call them personally if i had any problems...

My CA is still employed as I see his car in the employee parking when I drive past the lot. I have been wondering when the local dealership/s will reduce staff. They say their cars are selling, but, I'm not buying it. Pun unintended.

I've never used the same CA for more than one purchase. Here is SoCal, they don't seem to stick around at the same dealers much. So, I've never really developed a relationship with one. Still, the economy is hitting everyone, everywhere. After all on Monday alone 70,000+ job cuts were announced.
It's gettin' ugly out there.

Yep an unfortunate side effect of what is going right now. I've had several clients ask me if I'm going to be around, luckily I'm still selling at a pretty decent clip. We have actually added another CA to help with floor coverage.
I was in Dallas last week and had talked to some sales managers from other BMW centers and they had not even sold a new car in January! Glad I'm not there. |
