Keep dreaming - this will not happen! Since when has the M3 been faster than the M5 or the M5 been faster than the M6??????????? BMW will make sure this car slots in below the M3's performance as it should....the handling on the other hand should be sublime. This will be one hell of a car and i would expect 350-360 bhp but standard it will be the slowest M car in a straight line (round a track it may be a different story though). Just hope they keep the weight down as recent M cars have all been heavier than their Series donor cars.
I would also bet that this car will carry all of the trademark M styling cues - side vents, quad exhaust etc - should be quite a car.

The Current M3 is faster around the Nurburging than the current M5 & M6. The Current M3 is also faster around Hockenheim ring it beats the M5 M6 so you theory is wrong? More HP yes faster not always the case.

My response was to a post saying that the M1 might have 400bhp and i made the point tht the M division would not give this car 400bhp as it would be faster in a straight line than an M3, where did i say around a track? - i also said that around a track it might be a different story so read the post properly before patronising me by saying that more Bhp does not equal a faster lap time - no s**t! - EPIC FAIL

Love it! In the meantime, however, I build my own "M1 look" on my 123d:

AC Schnitzer tuning (240 hp)
AC Schnitzer front splitters
Vorsteiner vented hood
Quad exhaust
(Cat back exhaust, stage 2 programming up to 260 hp, rims & 19" tires coming soon)

How much was it to get that hood?

The hood cost me about $2000 including shipping all the way to Australia from the US. There was a nice guy who posted on this forum a few months ago (JB?) who said he had access to them & even helped create the hood with Vorsteiner, but my tuning shop here recommended that they deal directly with Vorsteiner to get it shipped down. I think they are now authorized reps for Vorsteiner here in Australia.

The only think I don't like is that you can't really leave the vent grills CF or paint them black as they are 1 piece moulded with the hood as this would show the break in the paint line. Other than that, we figure that the engine bay is 10 degrees cooler due to the vents.
