New here, I recently purchased my '11 135i in January. It's my first bimmer and I love it. Car is loaded including the M package and a carbon fiber spoiler. The only additions I have planned for the car is window tint and a drop-in filter.

Regarding the drop-in filter, which do yall recommend out of the following 3: Afe, K&N or Cobb, which can be found here http://m.**********s.com/BMW-135i-E82-E87-E88-Intake.htm" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://<a href="http://m" rel="nofollow" target="_b...E88-Intake.htm
Or do yall have other recommendations? I don't have much knowledge on car tuning or anything related so yall's insight will be much appreciated.

I have some mobile pics, but they don't do the car justice so the posted pic is from the dealership's website when it was for sale.

Good to meet yall and I hope to gain much knowledge here!

I recommend the BMS DCI. Makes the car sound better too. Lots of people say it sucks in too much hot air but I never found that to be a problem when I had my 135i. Best performance for the dollar.

A tune would be the best performance per dollar.

Panel filter vs DCI

First off, thanks all for the welcomes.

I'm assuming a panel filter is another term for a drop-in filter? Also, I see that DCI's are not made for '11 135i. Does this matter? Lastly, what additions voids the warranty?

Congrats on the new car.
I recommend you get the BMS DCI.
I say start with a Jb4 though.

Your '11 is a N55 motor so you would need this one:
http://burgertuning.com/N55_BMW_Performance_intake.html
DCI will not fit on your car.

I have it on my car for the sound...you can hear the turbo spool up a lot more with it. They might say something if you bring it in with the intake...void the warranty, probably not. But whats nice is you can remove it to switch back to stock in less than 5 mins. It was the first thing I did to make the car sound better...not really any hp gains though.

Awesome thanks! Looks like I may go with this one. Although I probably will not hear the sound improvement since the car already has a Meisterschaft exhaust.

This is the closest I could find for a bmw wheel...they don't match exactly though.

With a little more digging, I've found a better match...

I think you have some Apex EC-7 wheels. Click on the "satin black" version and it's a pretty identical looking wheel.

Welcome! I will second the sentiment that you ought to drive the car for at least a little while before modding. It will give you a great starting point for knowing what you want to change, and then what each modification fixes.

They do look like Apex wheels, however, I don't see the branding on yours.

My advice would be to start by tuning your suspension (assuming it's stock) and then get a tune of your choice. You have the N55 engine, so be sure to order parts for that, otherwise they won't work and we'll be seeing a lot of you in the classifieds section of the boards.

Oh, and you can still order BMS products in California, just get them from a 3rd party distributor. A few vendors on the forums carry their products.

thanks! so I've been researching and many think the stock intake and filter is fine and to leave as is.

I believe my car has the M sport suspension. What suspension would you recommend?
