Yeah that definitely is a sad story, a bit humbling I guess. I remember going through and seeing the work crews spreading the "oil-dri" on the track and just a bit down from there seeing a car pulled to the left side (presumably the source of the spill). If I remember correctly it was a dark blue hatch. Where was the bike? Did this accident occur after we drove by the spill?

That's bad news about the motorcycle rider.

If you are referring to the red and white intergra with gold wheels.... I saw it on a trailer on A6 on my way home.....trailer queens suck!

Wade, the blue one we saw standing on the left was a Renault Clio and there was also a motorbike parked just a bit before and undamaged. The other bike witch had minor damage was "parked" against the safety rails but I saw only one biker, so I feared for the other one . Later when we stood there on the parking lot there was a chopper flying in remember?

Since I left you guys after the track was re-opened @ 10 am i picked up later in the evening some more info about the track being closed in the afternoon and this for even a longer period of time due to a another severe crash. Where you guys still around at that time?

I saw the undamaged bike parked but don't remember seeing the one in the roadway from the article.....doesn't matter though I guess. I second what Rick said condolences to his family and his buddies there.

It was a different white Integra, I saw that red/white one bruised up on the side of the track.

Sad news indeed. I wonder what kind of "charges" the driver of that hatch faces. Sounds like the Polizei need some eye witnesses - before they charge him.

I went drinking Friday and hiking today and so missed the entire weekend. Meanwhile a fellow "speed freak" paid for his hobby with his life. Sad day indeed...

Yes........i'm quoting myself.

I am officially out. Got my orders yesterday and have to much to accomplish before the 29th which is when I report to stuttgart. I'll be cleaning out the garage a bit and if anyone wants some extra metric tools I will post the sizes of what I have available this weekend.

Nick

I was just offered a ticket and free ride to the North Sea Jazz Fest in Rotterdam. Looks like I'll have to hit the 'Ring next weekend.

Wish I could be. You'll have a great time no matter what.

I'm hoping that the third time is the charm and I actually make it out this Sunday (15 July).
