Oh, and it squeals like there’s no tomorrow on street as I’m lazy to swap them since the car is rarely use the car for street now. The rare times I do, always makes me wanna swap out to the Akebono’s.

I use PFC08s out rear in the 128i size. Less dust but these are also the gold standard for track pads as far as I know. Combined, these pretty much do for a novice/intermediate driver like I am. I guess it depends if you drive on tracks that are heavy on brakes. I haven’t driven on one so far so I guess we will see.

chris_flies is the man for blazing the trail for these mods for the 128i. I’ve still yet to tackle the F30 brake conversion (parts have been sitting for a year now) and the cooling upgrades. One day...
I think Chris inspired my F30 brakes purchase. I found the calipers for $120 each so I bought them. I've got them plugged and masked for sandblasting tomorrow.

If you've got the hardware, then it's extremely fast to swap in, really.

Nice. Looks like high-temp tape and plugs suitable for post powder coating bake out. What color?

You're correct about the tape and plugs however I'm just using them during sand blast. I'm going to try this G2 paint from Amazon and take one for the team to test how durable it is. Track day in October so it'll get tested fast.

G2 High Temperature Brake Caliper Paint System Set Blue G2162 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000G28PPE..._I8CmFbGRZND28

If it fails, I'll just sand blast again and take it to a guy locally that does powder coating. I considered having him hard anodize them and dye a color but keeping everything sealed off would be a challenge. Also the bolts holding the halves together I assume are steel so would not do well in the lye and nitric acid baths for anodize.

I used G2 and it turned out quite well. Held up to one track day without any noticeable discoloration.

Good to know! If that's an after pic then they still look freshly painted. I guess we'll have two data points in this case. Did you use the brush in the kit and mix it all at the same time?

I used two kits, one for a set of front and rears each. I had a lot of excess so just one may have been sufficient. You're supposed to mix it all in at once. You get around 4 hours of working time with the paint though, so you aren't really rushed to finish it real quickly.

Oh 4 hours is plenty. By some of the reviews I thought I'd have like 30 min to 1 hr at most. I was planning on doing 8:1 by weight since I have an accurate scale.

With the kits you just mix in the entire amount of hardener, but that's if you're doing a kit
