Buying my new 1
I'm 22 years old and I'm waiting for "the call" to pick up my new 135i coupe. The only problem is I've never bought a new car before. I negotiated the deal already, but I don't know what to expect the day I get the car. Can someone who has just recently picked up their 1 describe to me exactly what happens right when I get there to pick up my car (what papers I sign? extra fees? any perks to ask for? test drive before signing papers?) Thanks for your help!

Its not too bad, I just turned 22 and took delivery a few weeks ago. My CA was great and was a friend of a friend. He treated me good and didn't screw around. Its really kinda simple, I had already secured financing before hand and had my draft from the bank, from there it was just some singing of paperwork and paying anything that wasn't covered under the draft. In my case I added HD radio and my tag registration after I had already done the draft.

My first car also... I'm 25 a tad bit older, but this was what happened on July 11, 2008:
-Drove on over to the dealership and checked out my vehicle -Checked the mileage and car to see if everything was functioning properly -Went in and signed some papers with me CA -He then directed me to the finance gal who had some additional forms -This gal also explain the type of options I can get with BMW especially LOW JACK. Also suggested BMW tint and showed my the prices. -Sign the Bill of Sale and initials some stuff. Other forms includes registration and proof of insurance. -Filled out my draft check and make sure to get copies of everything That took no more than 20 minutes TOP -Went back to my CA who gave me the keys -I asked for some rubber mats, keychain, first aid kit -He gave me a voucher and off I went to the parts department and picked up these items The experience took about 1.5 hour. |

Thanks for the help guys! I heard read about tire hazard in another post? Is it a good idea to get that? Are there any other kinds of similar services they offer? Any of them a good idea?
