Are there different kidney grilles??

Went to install a set of kidney grilles from another member, they fit but they are definitely different. Is there a different shape/type for 128's or maybe non M-sport cars? I'm not sure what car these came from.

I think the grilles for the 128i, 135i, Sport, M Sport, etc. should all be the same. Are they aftermarket? Maybe that's the difference.

Maybe not all aftermarket grilles look/fit the same as the originals.

Yeah good point I'll check the mold and see if there's any BMW markings

I would not be at all surprised to see fake BMW markings on knockoff parts, especially cosmetic parts. I have bought some obviously fake Roundels that I did not install that had BMW markings on the back plastic.

I received gloss black out grills for my 135i m sport not to long ago from ecs. they fit great and are of good quality but they only look better because they're black on my white paint. the style and shape of the oe genuine bmw grills are so much better. so i just ended doing a gloss black finish on my oem ones after sanding down the chrome finish a bit. took my time wet sanded between the coats and it looks pretty spot on.
hope that help

Edit: honestly just pay they extra for the gloss black bmw performance grills. unless your handy with a rattle can
