Weathertech floorliner request (Not a sales pitch)
(Yes, definitely not a sales pitch, I just want weathertech to do floorliners for this car since they don't do them for every car... I figure if people want them and request, there is a much better chance of this. Sorry for any confusion)
Hey everyone. I know a lot of people like the Weathertech floor liners (not the all weather mats, though they are decent as well). Floorliners are great for those of us with nasty winter weather and provide great coverage. Anyone who is interested should go to Weathertech and submit a product request form so we can try to prove to them that there is some interest. We may also want the cargo liner as well. Product request form Floorliner info They typically run $160 for front and rear set. I think some people just use them during the winter months when there is more chance to get nasty stuff in the car, and then use normal mats other times of the year. I would likely just leave mine in there all the time.
The good thing is that they would fit perfectly and as such should look very good in the car as long as you don't mind rubber under your feet instead of carpet. My car will have a black interior and the black liners should look classy. I suppose if you really wanted to, you might be able to put in floor liners and then other mats on top (like carpet ones), but that seems a little bit extreme to me... but the are some extreme people on here. You may also have to cut off all the little nubs on the back of the carpet mat to make it not sit up off the floor (assuming they have nubs). |

Beware of Weathertech.
They make good products, but if you have a problem and want them to take care of it, good luck. They are only there for the sale and don't care about the customer after the sale. If you really want Weathertech, don't buy direct from MacNeil Automotive Products but buy from one of their distributors and you will probably have better luck if you have any problems. |

I am not sure why this got moved to the Commercial Sales section...
I am not affiliate with weathertech and just want to drum up some support so that we have a better chance of getting them to provide them for the 1-series. oh well... |

I ordered the wrong floor mats. It was my fault, I knew it as soon as I pulled them out of the box. I put them back in the box and called MacNeil to get an exchange. The mats I got were designed to be trimmed to fit the car. My intention was to get the custom mats, the same ones my brother ordered two weeks prior.
They would not do an exchange or refund, because in their words I was the first to call to complain about this and all I had to do was take out my old mats and cut the new mats to fit. The person I talked said over and over, because I was the only one to complain they didn't think it was a problem. I thought she was nuts and she wouldn't let me talk with anyone else in the company. So I thought this company advertises in Car and Driver every month so they must be a reputable company. The mats were no good to me so I mailed them back with a note what I needed. I never got a response and they say they never receive the mats. Yes, I had a tracking number with a signature. It was such a small amount of money I just dropped it and ordered from another company. And that company sent me the mats that fit. What really made me mad was they were made by WeatherTech. They worked but I learned not to deal with MacNeil Automotive Products. |

I have actually emailed weather tech twice for the matts. I actually live in the town next to were they are produced. However, they just keep saying they arent producing them.

I emailed them way back in the day and they innitially said. "we will have them in February". Then about 2 months ago I emailed them and they said. "We do not currently have them" Thats all they said and I left it at that.

I just sent them an email today to see if they have changed their tune... I will let you know what I hear back. Hopefully it is something a little more promising or informative than "We do not currently have them."

Humm interesting. Thats the same response I have gotten for months. I filled out one of the forms and even said. "if you need my car for a day to make them and test fit, I would in trade for a set". Didnt get a response from that.

So you have these mats?
It looks like they would have less coverage, but a good alternative. If Weathertech doesn't come through, I will likely go that route. Does anyone have the BMW truck mat? It looks decent.

The BMW matts are just OK, kind of thin. They serve the purpose but they wont hold a lot of liquid. If you drive it in the winter you get a TON of salt and snow and will need that extra liquid/particle retention. I have a winter car so the BMW ones will safice, but I would rather have the WeatherTech.
