With all this M235i hype I decided to test drive one... It drives very similar to a 135i N55 with PPK (in fact I prefer the PPK burble) its looks a little overweight and the interior is rather busy compared to the e82. Am I missing something here

M135 and M235 replaces 130i and 135i, so it should just be the usual new model hype.
M135 is old news so M235 is the topic at the moment. The step changes from 130i to M135i are of course greater than 135i to M235, so it's no surprise to find existing 135 owners less keen on the M235, especially modded 135s |

Driven on suburban streets, maybe over expectation, the rear of the car looks very smart, not a fan of the bonnet line though, I'll buy it over the A45.

You and me both (and Alpine)! In my ideal world, it would be the same formula as 1M, ie diff, wheels, suspension, brakes and rear end from the M3, but this time also a carbon roof. I don't mind a N54/55 as I won't use it as a track car. It also has to be a fair bit lighter than M3 with about 280kw. Oh yeah!
