Suspension replacement for our 135i.

This would be my 3rd bimmer but the first time I've thought into upgrading the suspension. I can't take the sport suspension any longer, it's just too soft.

What would be the highest quality suspension for our 135, regardless of cost? Is there anything out there that has a higher spring rate but can still soak the bumps pretty well?

thanks!

BMW Performance Suspension actually has gotten very favorable reviews. I'll be going that route as soon as I've saved up enough money.

Disregarding price, I would say the TC Kline DA's or the KW Clubsports are your best bet. Harold @ HP Autowerks can hook you up with custom spring rates if you want something higher.

dont go with the bmw "performance suspension" it sucks

ive had eibach springs, sure they rode a little stiffer and were okay

but you want a nice solid set up that will get the job done go with KW V'3 thats what i have now and love them

Don't listen to this "post." It sucks.

Let me guess... you probably rolled your eyes at my stupid, useless post right? Rightfully so. My point is this: please qualify your statement. People aren't going to take your word for it. They will want to know WHY you feel it sucks. Until you do that, you are just wasting people's time.

KW V3's are overkill for what he is asking for. I think the KW V1's would be sufficient. Has a higher spring rate than stock and soaks up the bumps really well from what I have read.

I think that means any coilover type is not overkill. But really, clubsports over v3's if money is no object.

Yeah I guess you are right due to the money is no object thing......I still really don't think you need all that other stuff UNLESS you are going to track it.....in everyday driving it is not necessary. Just my opinion no biggie!

syenisch you need to learn how to read what he is asking

JiveTurkey "Yes, this is true, for the people who dont have it."
ive rode in cars with the bmw performance suspension kit... hmm wonder why i dont have it huh ?.. yeah thats because it is nothing special

"What would be the highest quality suspension for our 135, regardless of cost? Is there anything out there that has a higher spring rate but can still soak the bumps pretty well?"

bmw performace "suspension kit" isnt what people are opting for to go to the track and so on...we all know that... i dont need to explain why there are plenty of threads on it so go read.

TC Kline DA's, the KW Clubsports, kw'v3 are all more of the "high quality" suspension/coilovers for our car

Addendum...so are KW V1's or V2's, H&R, Bilstein's etc....to be honest I do not know of ANY coilovers for the 1er that are not some type of high quality...

Do any of these allow the adjustment of high with out altering spring rate?

The first question to ask is what kind of driving will you be doing. Everyone seems to be jumping on the coilover train which makes the vendors happy, but I think they are overkill for most people. Don't overlook a good spring/damper/swaybar combo like Eibach/Koni/swaybar if you are going for about a 1" drop or so.
