Take care: I think there's a small meeting during the weekend of 23-25th of Aug in the Spa-Francorchamps area... I guess the trafic will be worse during all this weekend, compared to any given Sunday ! I'll be camping there for 3 days , so I won't make it on the 24th ! But the idea is nice !! Maybe I'll join you on another day... Cheers ! |

I was in Spa last weekend
I posted this in the Racing section a few days ago: ---------------------------------- I was invited by Oris Swiss watches to visit the Belgian GP and Williams F1. Totally for free(Ok I had to go there by car , 3 hours driving) Our Gold 1 Grandstand we were sitting at row 9. I was exactly below the 2nd 'Shell' L so to speak Idiotic Greenpeace activists making their statements.... @ our hotel in Vaals (still NL south border with B and D) Macca from London, talked to the owner, nice guy : Lambo: The group from the UK : ---------- Spa Wiliams paddock: Pastor Maldonado and me. I speak Spanish too and had a nice conversation with him. He was a tad silent but when he heard Spanish instead of English he melted a bit Champagne, Heineken, cute girls @ Williams, high quality food, a high tech bathroom what looked like Star Trek, only the robotic ass wiping was missing Sir Frank... Engineer Pat Symonds, I saw Patrick Head somewhere as well : Some info @ the pits. No pics allowed ...only the cars... Bottas' car (nice guy too) URL=http://s171.photobucket.com/user/Mokkiwokki/media/A8270BA4-909D-4B39-8E3A-F3B15576523B-9648-000008547466C420_zpscd3ccdfc.jpg.html][/URL] I have some video footage of start & finish but first the pics Nice view from our grandstand. Lewis and Kimi were the most popular and in general Ferrari(by the way the crowd was shouting) Fellow Dutchman Giedo van der Garde passing and in the upper right corner one of those Greenpeace guys: Sorry for the crappy quality of some pics.... Cheers Robin |

It seems that you had a nice 'behind the scene' time over there.
When watching the podium ceremony on my TV I did not understand why the crowd was boo-ing an cheering. I felt puzzled and embarrassed, thinking that some part of the public disrespected Seb V., Fernando A., Lewis H. or David C. Only later in the afternoon I found out what the reason was: the public had targeted neither the drivers nor the interviewer. It seems that the camera men and control room managed to keep focused. Oh, and David kept his cool when he was 'Champaign showered' by the guys.

We were booing at the 4 activists above our heads 15 mins prior to the start of the race because we were afraid the Greenpeace banner would be covering our sight and we wouldn't be able to see anything going on(start /finish etc) on track.
Actually I was more impressed by the(speed and sound of the) SLS and C63 pacecars than the F1 cars tbh The sound of the F1 cars gets annoying after half an hour or so despite having earplugs and headsets... But visiting Williams F1 the night before: EXCELLENT! Thanks to ORIS SWISS WATCHES and WILLIAMS F1! Cheers Robin |

Akra recently ended the production of the 1M exhaust. So if you want one, don't wait too long to get one (for sure still quite some in stock).
As testified by those in the know: N55 midpipe + Akra axle back exhaust + wireless remote = the fun package ("pretpakket").

Hi guys
I will be joining your ranks as of tomorrow. I get to pick up my black 1m in Germany , after that I can start the import/registration progress. If all goes well, i will be able to keep the plates I used to have on my (sadly departed) silver M coupé. 1-GRR-200 can be added to the list. :-D |
