Vibrant Resonators N55 135i?

Hi guys,

I have a 2012 135i that i've modded with a intercooler and high flow cat / downpipe.

It now runs awesome with a custom MHD tune, however there's now an unwanted drone between 1800-2500 RPM under load (yes, even with the OEM muffler) which is especially annoying at highway speeds.

I've been looking at my options here and came across the vibrant resonators. My mechanic believes they can only fit one large resonator in, however looking at the n54 threads it seems they manage to fit two singles side by side.

Does anyone know if i'll be able to squeeze two resonators in on the later 1 series, and which specific vibrant model i should be purchasing so i don't need to create any unnecessary flow restrictions with piping changes?

Thank you kindly.

If it’s dct then there isn’t much your going to do about the drone, I’ve been through 3 exhaust setups so far, first was same as yours, then D.P. With performance exhaust (very bad drone) and D.P. With performance exhaust and Berk midpipes (best sound imo)

The drone is worse now with the Berk midpipes (which are or are similar to vibrant resonators) then it was with the stock catback. Even though I love the way it sounds, seventh gear is annoyingly loud at anything below 70

There are a lot of difference resonators out there. I'm sure there are some slim units that would fit up there. There's a lot of pipe.

I have a 12' with just a downpipe and I haven't noticed any droning, actually.

I have a similar setup (dct + catless DP + PE) and I ordered these. REALLY helped the drone/note for puttering around town at low rpm.

Thanks guys. I'm almost about to pull the trigger on the 1790 or 1792 and then just taking them into my nearest exhaust shop and telling them to make it fit, only issue is I have to order them from the US so postage is a bit of bitch now Amazon doesn't want to know us.

Did you manage to fit two side by side, if so where abouts?

After speaking with vibrant they suggest fitting them close to the downpipes to better reduce drone.

Much appreciated.

Hey Alderidge, im also interested in your results with this. If you get a chance, would you be able to take some before and after vids for sound?

Yes, the exhaust shop was able to fit them side by side, and we didn't lose any clearance. Wish I had a picture for you :\
