Washer Fluid Sprayer not working

My windshield washer sprayer has stopped working. The pressure slowly got lower and lower until nothing comes out at all. I can hear the sprayer motor but no fluid. The headlight sprayer still works fine. Any ideas how to fix it? Is it just a clog that has a simple fix? My car is out of warranty so I hoping some one here has some ideas before I bring it to the shop.

Actually mine has just started doing that too. I'm still in warranty though. I wonder if the pump has died.

Im assuming they use the same pump but i dont know. On my other cars when the headlight sprayers worked, when this happened the line cam undone from the hood sprayers and was spraying all over under the hood. Might be worth a look.

Check for kinks in the line, too. That's a super easy fix.

My nozzles tend to clog after a while on the soapy dealer filled fluid. Flushing the system with pure water will clear any accumulation of soap residues. If it is debris build up you will probably have to use a needle to clear the obstruction.

Apparently using some non OE washer fluids can clog the filter on the pump. Mixing fluids can create a gel type mixture to form. Have to remove the pump and clean it out.

This is why I have only used the BMW branded fluid, luckily it is cheap by the case, and I can pick it up at the Mini dealer next door.

Where is the filter and pump located? I am almost certain that I have a clog as I am full on washer fluid.

In the washer tank, located behind the right front fender.

#4 is for the headlights, #7 or #8 are for the windshield. The filters for the windshield are #9.

Is that area easily accessible?

What about sticking a pipe cleaner into the nozzles to scrub it out if it has become clogged?

Not really sure, have not done it myself. I would remove the front fender liner and take a look.

I've seen pics of various crazy builds in this forum where guys have their fenders off. The tank is immediately behind the right fender. Can one really get to this from the other side (wheel well)?

And are you using this? http://www.amazon.com/BMW-Windshield.../dp/B00PYLFM4O

Personally I would not take the fender off. Hard to realign perfectly. I really doubt any tech at the dealer would take the fender off either.

If you follow the filler neck, you can see it behind the right front wheel, then goes behind the plastic fender liner.

The stuff I get from the dealer is not a concentrate. It is a purple fluid, premixed and comes in a 1 gallon jug.
