Key Memory settings? Want to turn the radio off when I get out of the car.
I've searched for this for a while now, but can't seem to find it. Does anyone know whether the accessory power settings are controlled by your key memory, and whether they can be adjusted? Basically I really dislike the fact that my radio will stay on and Bluetooth active until you lock the car. I would much prefer that they turn off when I open the door after turning the engine off. There are times when I don't wish to lock the car, but don't want the stereo playing or the Bluetooth to steal my phone calls because I'm 50 feet away inside the house or pumping gas or something. It's quite annoying the way it currently functions.
So can this be adjusted by the dealer or something? |

You can just hit the start/stop button again after turning the engine off and it'll shut down all the electronics. I'm with you though, I wish it cut out like many other cars when you open the door.

I tried that and it restarted the engine. I guess maybe I need to take my foot off the clutch?

Ya, make sure your foot is off the clutch and perhaps moreso the brake. Not sure on the 6MT as I have the DCT, but I know sometimes I still have my foot on the brake when I hit it the second time and then accidentally turn the engine back on.

Thanks for the help kind Sir. Like you said, it really would be better if they had set the options up differently. You could always hit the button to turn the accessories back on if you really wanted them on, which is a far lower % of the time than wanting it to turn off. The thing is, my 2008 model did not do this, I guess because it did not have comfort access.

As Greg said, it may be something with the comfort access system vs non-comfort access. My older 135i didn't have comfort access and did not do this. I'm going to the dealership this afternoon anyway due to a headlight problem, so I will ask while I am there.

Never heard of this. My '11 without Comfort turns the radio off as soon as I pull out the key.
