aftermarket intakes for N52?
Just wondering what aftermarket intakes are available for the N52 engine -- other than the BMW performance one.

I believe Dinan sells one for the 325/330. www.dinancars.com not sure if it will work.

Their ram air intake is around $985, which is $3 cheaper than the BMW Performance intake. It's for the 130i, so it might not be a 100% fit. I'd spend the extra $3 and get a guaranteed fit and a warranty.

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=6218 I still think that's way too much, especially considering (a) I don't know the weight savings of carbon fiber vs. stock intake, (b) I don't know what sort of filter/material is used inside, and (c) there haven't been any before/after dyno results involving JUST switching out the stock intake vs. BMW performance intake. I was hoping there'd be something in the $300 range. |
